News Fuller’s Sells to Asahi
London-based Fuller Smith & Turner (Fuller’s) announced in a statement on its website that it has entered into an agreement for the sale of its entire beer business to Asahi Europe Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Asahi Group Holdings. News Budweiser teams up with Tilray to explore pot drinks
The maker of Budweiser is partnering with medical cannabis company Tilray in a $100 million deal to research cannabis-infused drinks for the Canadian market. The alliance announced Wednesday is the latest foray by a major beer company into the cannabis business in Canada, which legalized recreational marijuana in October.

News BA Reports 35% Jump in Craft Beer Exports
The Brewers Association today reported export growth data for the American craft beer industry in 2014. Supported by the BA’s Export Development Program (EDP), craft beer export volume increased by 35.7 percent in 2014, representing 383,422 barrels and an estimated $99.7 million.

News Global Craft Brewers Assoc. Formed
The Global Association of Craft Beer Brewers (GACBB) was founded this month, becoming the first international organization for independent craft beer brewers. Sebastian Mergel, co-founder of the Berlin craft beer brewery Berliner Bierfabrik, was elected the association’s founding president. The association’s goal is to empower smaller independent brewers by connecting them on an international level, and to provide resources via association tools and collaborations with other members. With its international reach, the association also looks to provide its members with access to material goods and services that allow them to expand into new international markets.

News Brewers Association to Represent Industry at International Beer Conventions
BOULDER, Colo. — Beer lovers in the U.S. won’t be the only ones beating the heat with offerings from small and independent brewers this summer. Through the efforts of the Brewers Association (BA) Export Development Program (EDP), American craft brewers will have a significant presence at a number of international beer events. Included in the summer schedule are festivals and conventions in Brazil, Germany and Great Britain. The BA will also be represented at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York.
