Building something takes time. Maintaining it takes effort. The past five years in the craft beer industry have been tumultuous, filled with constant challenges. Some have been unexpected, others long in the making. In response to societal changes and demands, the craft beer industry finally took a long overdue look at its hiring, consumer, and business practices and appeared to decide to take action. But as with many cultural movements inspired by current events and popular demands, sustaining that momentum into the future and to a point of real, consequential change requires attention and dedication.

A social media advertisement for Brewdog’s Clean & Press hard seltzer, has been banned in the U.K by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA). The ASA is an advertising watchdog for misleading health claims on food and beverage products in the U.K.

News BA Fires Up New Social Media Campaign to Support Members

News TTB Release Social Media Guidelines

The TTB has released an Industry Circular addressing the use of social media. The TTB has made it clear that they consider any use of social media the same as an advertisement. All “fan pages,” posts, links, QR codes, blogs and comments made on any social media platform are considered advertising by the TTB.
