Oregon Brewers Festival Adds an Extra Day

Beverage Industry News» Beverage Industry Newsposted Feb 14th, 2005 12:00:00AM by Pat Hagerman

In a nod to the success of the renowned Oregon Brewers Festival (OBF), event organizers have extended this year’s event, announcing that the doors will open one day early. The 18th annual festival will begin on Thursday, July 28, and continue through Sunday, July 31 at Tom McCall Waterfront Park in downtown Portland. Hours for the event will be 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Noon to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and Noon to 7 p.m. Sunday (token and mug sales cease one-half hour prior to closing). The Oregon Brewers Dinner, a ticketed prelude to the festival, will take place on Wednesday, July 27.

Seventy-two breweries will present beer at this year’s event. Joining the breweries are industry exhibits by hop growers, maltsters, homebrewers, alephenalia collectors, and national beer writers. Seven local on-site restaurants offer light meals and alternative beverages, and the Oregon Beverage Works Soda Garden offers complimentary handcrafted sodas to minors and designated drivers. Live entertainment is featured throughout the event.

For more information about the OBF, call the event hotline at 503/778-5917, or visit www.oregonbrewfest.com. For visitor information and hotel reservations, visit www.travelportland.com or call toll-free 1.87.PORTLAND (1.877.678.5263).
