News Non-Alcohol Beer Booms in Germany

Non-alcoholic beer sales in Germany have boomed in recent years, where beer consumption per capita is the fourth highest in the world. The volume of non-alcoholic beer produced in Germany has almost doubled over the past 10 years, showing that the trend for non-alcoholic beer popularity is not limited to the US.

As of last year, non-alcoholic beer represented about 7% of total beer purchases. The number of brands available in Germany has doubled since 2010 and now includes more than 700 brands, according to the German Brewers Federation.

The growing popularity of non-alcohol beer in Germany is likely due to the same consumer trends in the US; a growing interest in health consciousness and general alcohol moderation overall.
