News Auburn University Offers New Master’s Degree in Brewing Science

Auburn University now offers a master’s program in brewing science and operations. It is designed mostly for students who work full-time but partners with on-campus brewery New Realm Brewing Company to allow a hands-on approach and learn the ins-and-outs of the industry.

Our on-campus classes include a mix of participants from breweries of all sizes who hail from locations all over the world, enhancing our student’s learning experience by exposing them to differences in culture, equipment, methods and beer styles.

The degree, which takes two years to complete and is offered is exclusively online, is offered through the university’s Auburn’s Horst Schulze School of Hospitality Management College of Human Sciences.

The program started in the fall 2015 as a graduate certificate but has been recently expanded to include a Master of Science degree. The first group of MS degree students graduated in August 2023.
