News BA Releases Quality Guide
Recognizing the need for improved and more standardized craft beer storage and handling practices in the U.S. and in markets around the world, the Brewers Association launched its newest publication, Best Practices Guide to Quality Craft Beer — Delivering Optimal Flavor to the Consumer. The guide is designed to provide general guidelines for distributors, shippers, publicans, sales staff, grocery stores, liquor outlets, bars and restaurants to better deliver high-quality craft beer.

News Initial 2013 Craft Sales Look Huge
According to scan data from the firm IRI, craft beer sales in all major off-premise channels such as grocery, drug and big-box stores grew 19% in dollars and 17% volume in 2013. This is the first glimpse of full 2013 data, and bodes well for some rock solid industry results to be released by the Brewers Association in April.

News Craft Continues Climb into Mid-Year
The steady and sustained growth of American craft brewing continued during the first half of 2013, according to mid-year data released by the Brewers Association (BA). The BA announced that during the first six months of 2013, American craft beer dollar sales and volume were up 15 percent and 13 percent, respectively. Over the same period last year, dollar sales jumped 14 percent and volume increased 12 percent.

News Training Announcement: Having Difficult Discussions
On July 11th, OvalOptions for Conflict Management is hosting a training tailored to the craft brewing industry. This 1/2 day course provides participants with knowledge and skills to help them have essential, but tough, conversations that maintain, improve or repair relations and operations in the brew-house. Topics to be addressed include difficulties in communication and dispute management, which are found everywhere; in the brew-house, with suppliers and customers, and at home. We aim to help breweries preserve the main ingredient in their business: people.

News US Craft Exports Up 72%
The American craft beer industry set a new record for exports in 2012. Based on results from a recently completed industry survey, the Brewers Association reports craft beer export volume increased by 72% compared to 2011, with a value estimated at $49.1 million.
