The nation’s first hand-canning craft brewery is entering the Washington and Oregon beer markets. Oskar Blues two canned styles, Dale’s Pale Ale and Old Chub Scottish-Style Ale will begin distribution in those two states this week.
“The Pacific Northwest is one of the world’s great beer-producing regions,” says Oskar Blues Brewery founder Dale Katechis. “We think beer lovers there will flip for our big, mind-blowing canned beers. There aren’t many people there who will tell us, ‘Ooh, your pale ale is too hoppy,’ or, “Your scotch ale is too big for me.'”
Dale’s Pale Ale and Old Chub 12-packs in Oregon and Washington will be Singing 12-Packs, and will include a seven-song sampler of music from Seattle’s legendary rock band, the Supersuckers. The disc includes cuts from the band’s new live DVD package.
Oskar Blues Brewery’s beers will be distributed in Washington by Click Wholesale Distributing in Seattle, WA. “We carry world-class beers that stand above the crowd,” says the company’s Rick Steckler. “These beers fit the bill; they’re a great fit for the Washington market.” In Oregon, Oskar Blues Beers will be distributed by Young’s-Columbia Distributing in Portland.
