Finestkind Brewing, owners of Smuttynose Brewing Company in Newe Hampshire has purchased fellow New Hampshire brewery Wachusett Brewing. The latest craft-on-craft acquisition will help Smuttynose expand its portfolio and reach into additional markets.
Wachusett Brewing, founded in 1994 on a family farm, has become a key craft brand in central Massachusetts. Their portfolio of fruit beers will deepen the Smuttynose portfolio and the 15,000-barrel production capability will add needed capacity.
The deal comes close on the heels of Finestking buying the Brooklyn-based Five Boroughs Brewing Co. in November.
