News Oskar Blues Closes Austin Brewery with No Notice

The Oskar Blues Brewery location in Austin, Texas has closed. It is the fifth brewery to close in Austin in the last two years.

The Colorado-based brewer opened the 50,000 square foot Austin location in 2016. The brewery includes a 7,000 square foot taproom and entertainment space.

The other Austin brewery closures include Circle Brewing, which closed last month and Thirsty Planet which closed in August. Adelbert’s Brewery and 4th Tap both closed last year 2022.

The Oskar Blues closure was sudden and was done with no announcement. Various sources have said that all employees have been laid off. All references to the Austin location have been removed from the company web site and all social media platforms have been taken down as well.

The company is based in Longmont, Colorado and still has a second brewpub location in Brevard, North Carolina.
