News UK Considers Calorie Labeling on Alcohol

The UK government has said it may require calorie labeling on alcohol beverage products in an effort to tackle the country’s obesity problem.

It is one of many measures the government has revealed as part of a new anti-obesity strategy, including ending ‘buy one get one free’ deals on unhealthy food sold in stores, having calories displayed on menus and requiring all alcoholic beverages to display ‘liquid calories’ on packaging.
