The Beer Institute released its estimate of domestic tax paid shipments by beer brewers for June 2023 which showed that shipments from domestic breweries were down 6.4% compared to last year.
The June 2023 estimate is 15,100,000 barrels, down from 16,136,260 barrels shipped in June 2022.
Shipments are now down 5.9% compared to June last year, for a total of 77,155,792 barrels year to-date versus 81,976,602 barrels shipped through June of 2022.
June is the second biggest monthly decline this year next to a decrease of 12.2% in May. Only one month this year performed better than 2022. In February shipments were up by 1.0%.
