Beer production in the US had another downward month. The Beer Institute’s estimate of domestic tax paid shipments by beer brewers in May 2023 was down 7.7% compared to last year. Production for the year through May is now down an estimated 4.4%.
The May 2023 estimate was 13,300,000 barrels, compared to May 2022 removals of 14,415,915. This was the largest decline so far this year.
Only one month in 2023 has shown an increase in production. That was in February with a slight increase of 1.0%.
January had a decline of 3.8%, March was down 6.0% and April was down 4.0%
