Brewers Association Lay’s Off 23% of Staff

Beverage Industry News» Crisis Responseposted Apr 28th, 2020 10:40:23AM by Tom McCormick

The Brewers Association announced yesterday that the organization has laid off 23% of its workforce due to operational budget cuts in anticipation of reduced revenue. The association has also enacted tiered salary reductions for the management team.

The BA cancelled the annual Craft Brewers Conference scheduled for earlier this month and SAVOR in Washington DC in May, both revenue generators for the group. With industry events in September already being cancelled such as the California Craft Beer Summit in early September, the BA may be forced to cancel the Great American Beer Festival, also a major revenue generator, scheduled for September 24-26th.
