Alleged violation of labeling is settled in OIC
The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) accepted an Offer-in-Compromise (OIC) totaling $175,000 to settle alleged violations of the Federal Alcohol Administration Act (FAA) and the Internal Revenue Code by Shipyard Brewing Co. and Pugsley Brewing (members of a controlled group of breweries) of Portland, ME.
The Shipyard Brewing Co. and Pugsley Brewing each submitted an OIC of $87,500.
TTB alleged that the breweries altered certificates of label approval (COLAs) and that the breweries sold malt beverages without valid COLAs. TTB alleged the breweries had inaccurate label information.
