The BrewExpo America takes place next month in Minneapolis, part of the annual Craft Brewers Conference. Organized by the Brewers Association they call it the largest brewing conference and trade show in the United States and the “perfect opportunity to meet leaders in the national and international brewing arena.”

News Falconer Foundation Offering Concise Course Scholarship to Siebel Institute
In collaboration with the Seibel Institute of Technology, the Glen Hay Falconer Foundation is offering a full-tuition brewing education scholarship in 2022. The scholarship is a full tuition grant and comes with a travel and lodging stipend.

News TTB Extends Temporary Allowances for the Manufacture of Hand Sanitize
Due to the continuation of the Food and Drug Administration’s temporary guidance related to the manufacture of hand sanitizer and denatured alcohol for use in hand sanitizer, the TTB announced today that the agency will be extending the authorizations provided in TTB G 2020-1C through December 31, 2021.

News TTB Accepts $325K Settlement from IBEV for Trade Practice Violations
The Alcohol Tobacco and Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) recently accepted a $325,000 offer in compromise from beer distribution company Iowa Beverage Systems (IBEV), to settle alleged trade practice violations. The violations included purchasing tap handles and making payments to a retailer in exchange for only buying IBEV products.

News Feds to Mandate Businesses with Over 100 Employees to Require Vaccine or Testing of All Employees
President Biden is set to announce today a new federal rule that will require that all businesses with 100 or more employees to have all workers either fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or submit to weekly testing for the virus.

Expert Topic Ballast Point Awards Brewing for Diversity Scholarships with UC San Diego Extension
Ballast Point Brewing awarded two full scholarships as part of its inaugural Brewing for Diversity partnership with the UC San Diego Extension Brewing Program. The scholarship program grants underrepresented students full tuition and related fees for those starting or continuing in the UC San Diego Extension’s Brewing Certificate Program as well as the opportunity to complete a paid internship at Ballast Point in San Diego to gain real-world insight into brewery production and operations.

News TTB Seeks Input on Promoting Competition – Brewers Can Submit Comments
In response to a recent Executive Order from the White House on promoting competition in the American market, the Treasury Department has issued a request for information to solicit comments about the current market structure and competition in the U.S. beer, wine, and spirits markets.
