News Constellation’s Second Quarter Earnings Miss Mark but Beer Brands Do Well
Constellation Brands said adjusted earnings for the three months ended in August, the group’s fiscal second quarter, were pegged at $2.38 per share, down 13.8% from the same period last year and well shy of the Street consensus forecast of $2.77 per share. Group revenues, Constellation said, fell 5% to $2.371 billion, a figure that topped analysts’ estimates of a $2.302 billion tally.

News TTB Extends Temporary Allowances for the Manufacture of Hand Sanitize
Due to the continuation of the Food and Drug Administration’s temporary guidance related to the manufacture of hand sanitizer and denatured alcohol for use in hand sanitizer, the TTB announced today that the agency will be extending the authorizations provided in TTB G 2020-1C through December 31, 2021.

News Milwaukee Craft Brewer MobCraft Announces Plan to Add 10 New Locations
MobCraft Beer Inc. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin has said it plans to open as many as 10 locations by 2025. The company known for its, shall we say, unusual beers, such as Fruity Pebble cereal-inspired milkshake IPA, has targeted three immediate locations for expansion; Waterford, Wisconsin, Denver, Colorado and Woodstock, Illinois.

News BA Now Accepting Seminar Proposals for Craft Brewers Conference 2022
Yes, the CBC was less than two weeks ago. But with the quick turn around between CBC 2021 and 2022 given the odd pandemic-schedule this year, the the Brewers Association is already planning the details for next year’s CBC. The association is now accepting proposals for educational seminars for the 2022 Craft Brewers Conference, which will take place in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Monday, May 2 through Thursday, May 5.

News TTB Accepts $325K Settlement from IBEV for Trade Practice Violations
The Alcohol Tobacco and Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) recently accepted a $325,000 offer in compromise from beer distribution company Iowa Beverage Systems (IBEV), to settle alleged trade practice violations. The violations included purchasing tap handles and making payments to a retailer in exchange for only buying IBEV products.

News New Vobev Can Manufacturing Plant to Open by End of Year.
Vobev, a Utah-based can manufacturing company established in 2019, has announced details about its new 1.2 million sq. ft. facility that is due to open by the end of this year in Salt Lake City, Utah. The new production plant is expected to help provide some relief for the ongoing can shortage that has impacted the beverage industry.
