Sun Dog Amber Wheat is new spring seasonal from Anheuser-Busch

Anheuser-Busch has introduced another “specialty” beer in Sun Dog Amber Wheat, a new limited-time spring ale.

Sun Dog is filling the shoes of Spring Heat Spiced Wheat, which is now offered year-round under the Shock Top Belgian White name. Jack’s Pumpkin Spice Ale, Winter’s Bourbon Cask Ale and Beach Bum Blonde Ale will still be available seasonally.

Sun Dog’s ingredients include caramel malt, a blend of wheat and pale barley malts and Cascade, Willamette and imported Hallertau hops. The brand’s label depicts a dog wearing shades and shorts while holding a Frisbee. The beer, available in six-packs, contains 5.3 percent alcohol by volume.
