San Diego Breweries Start Reopening – Here’s How They Are Reacting

May 29, 2020

With San Diego County coronavirus numbers under legal guidelines, San Diego breweries have been able to start reopening. As the largest metro area in California to enter that phase, and one of the most brewery dense metro areas in the country, it will be interesting to watch.

Reopening breweries must follow a long list of social distancing and sanitary guidelines. Including reduced capacity, face masks, a strict cleaning regimen, and they must sell “a meal” with every beer purchase. Breweries like Green Flash and Alesmith have reopened, others like Modern Times have yet to reopen. Hit the jump to see some of the social media from San Diego breweries discussing reopening.

We are so happy to offer dine-in service for both tasty grub and grog at all five @pizzaportbrewingco Brewpubs. Sanitation and cleanliness have always been a big commitment of ours and we assure you that all our practices comply with state and county guidelines. When you come to see us it will be slightly different but still the same Pizza Port you love; just with more elbow room. Below are our new guidelines for what to expect. 1.  You will be greeted by a host to seat you. Tables are safely spaced to allow for social distancing, but you may join your friends at the same table. Just let your host know you wish to be seated together. 2.  WAY more outdoor seating!!! 3.  You will have to order food if you are looking to enjoy beers while dining in. Any of our to-go beer is fully available to take out and does not require you to buy food. 4. No video games. Due to sanitation concerns, state guidelines prohibit video games and ours will therefore be out of service until further notice. 5.  Bring your masks. You will be required to wear a facemask to enter the restaurant, while using the restroom or in line to purchase food or beer.
