ProBrewer has compiled a growing list of scholarship opportunities for those who wish to enter the craft brewing industry and those seeking to enhance their skill set and advance towards their career goals.

Scholarship List:  

American Brewers Guild

Auburn University

  • Oskar Blues Endowed Fellowship was established for the purpose of providing graduated fellowship support to students enrolled in the Auburn University Graduate Certificate Program in Brewing Science and Operations. The fellowship will be awarded annually to eligible students.
  • CANarchy, Oskar Blues Craft Fellowship was established to help increase diversity in the brewing industry. This competitive fellowship will, for one eligible student, cover the entire cost ($18,000) of the Graduate Certificate in Brewing Science and Operations program at Auburn University.

City Brew Tours

  • Talent on Tap Scholarship – This scholarship is to fund education for women of color who are interested in making an impact in the beer industry. Recipients will receive an award in an amount up to $2500 to further education or training within the beer industry.

Colorado State University

  • AC Golden Scholarship
    The scholarship will provide financial support to underrepresented students, including people of color, women, LGBTQ+ students and other marginalized groups.

CT Brewers Guild African American Brewing scholarship

A scholarship for Black students in an effort to increase diversity in the industry. The one-year program teaches scientific brewing theory, ingredient and recipe design, sanitation and safety, brewing management and brewing law.

Dakota County Technical College

  • MNCBG + DCTC DIVERSITY IN BREWING SCHOLARSHIP – Contribute

Glen Hay Falconer Foundation Scholarship

The Glen Hay Falconer Foundation is a non-profit organization created to commemorate and celebrate the life, interests, and good works of a well-loved and leading Northwest brewer. In 2021, the Foundation is offering two educational scholarships to the World Academy of Brewing at the Siebel Institute and one to the American Brewers Guild.

​Illinois Diversity in Brewing Scholarship – 

Scholarships are awarded annually to historically underrepresented groups including Female, Black, Indigenous, People of Color, LGBTQ, or Disabled individuals interested in joining the brewing industry or furthering their industry knowledge. Mentorship and job placement support will be available.

Iowa Craft Brewers Guild –

IBG Educational Grant – In partnership with the IA Wine and Beer Promotional Fund, the Iowa Brewers Guild is pleased to offer scholarship funds to support ongoing growth and leadership opportunities for breweries.

MBAA Scholarships 
MBAA Free Education podcast

  • Master Brewers Scholarship
    Master Brewers members in good standing are eligible to apply for the Master Brewers Scholarship. The scholarship covers the cost of tuition to the following courses: Brewing and Malting Science, Brewery Systems Technology and Maintenance, and Brewery Packaging Technology.

  • ​North American Brewers Association Scholarship
    Provides a $1,500 scholarship to Master Brewers members to go towards the tuition for the Master Brewers Brewing and Malting Course. Visit the Scholarship Provisions page to see if you qualify. Deadline to apply is August 1
  • Walt Powell Scholarship
    Provides an annual scholarship to Master Brewers members to cover full tuition to the Master Brewers Brewing and Malting Science Course, plus a travel stipend of up to $1,000 to the awardee.

  • District Lottery for Discounted Master Brewers Course Registration
    District application forms are due December 31.​ Only current District Officers may submit an application.
    All Master Brewers Districts are invited to enter a lottery drawing for a discounted registration rate for district scholarship winners planning on attending the following course:

Melvin Brewing

  • Melvin Brewing Scholarship is for students wanting to pursue a full or part time college education in brewery studies. The scholarship is awarded not by need but rather by responses to a 500-word essay.


Michael James Jackson Foundation for Brewing & Distilling 

  • Sir Geoff Palmer Scholarship Award for Brewing
  • Nearest Green Scholarship  Award for Distilling
    Funding technical education and career advancement for black, indigenous, and people of color in the brewing and distilling industries.  Contribute: https://charity.gofundme.com/o/en/campaign/mjfnow

Middle Tennessee State

  • Terrapin Beer Co. Change Scholarship
    A scholarship for people of color and LGBTQ+ students seeking degrees in brewing or fermentation sciences.  Up to $10,000, 4 year scholarship with paid internship at Terrapin Beer Company.
  • School of Agriculture
    Fermentation Science scholarship (dollar amount varies yearly)

Molson Coors

Molson Coors will support students at three Canadian universities and colleges with renowned brewing programs: Bishop’s University’s Graduate Certificate in Brewing Science program in Quebec, Niagara College’s Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management program in Ontario and Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s (KPU) Brewing and Brewery Operations program in British Columbia.
The awards to be given out include:

  • The Molson Coors BIPOC Brewing Award:
    Presented by Molson Coors, this award encourages Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) to join the brewing industry.
  • The Six Pints Women in Brewing Award:
    Presented by the Craft arm of Molson Coors, Six Pints Collective, this award encourages female students pursuing careers in brewing who will push the boundaries and build up beer.

Oregon State University 

Penn College of Technology

  • Pink Boots Society and D.G. Yuengling & Son Inc.Scholarship have partnered to fund a scholarship at the Pennsylvania College of Technology’s brewing and fermentation science program. The Diversity in Brewing Scholarship provides exceptional women of color in the brewing industry scholarship funds to further their brewing education. Students can apply for the scholarship through six brewing programs, including Penn College’s one-year certificate program.
  • Daniel J. Doyle Scholarship1st year or transfer student. Enrolled in Brewing & Fermentation Science, 4 years or more out of HS.

Pink Boots Society

Pink Boots Society and 21st Amendment Brewery partner to provide four scholarships to PBS members to further their brewing knowledge and leadership skills.

Point Park University (Pittsburgh, PA)

Regis University

  • Station 26 Brewing Diversity Scholarship
    A scholarship at Regis University’s applied craft brewing certificate program. The scholarship will provide financial support to underrepresented students, including people of color, women, LGBTQ+ students and other marginalized groups. Contribute

Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT 

  • CT BREWERS GUILD AFRICAN AMERICAN BREWING SCHOLARSHIP
    A scholarship for Black students in an effort to increase diversity in the industry. The one-year program teaches scientific brewing theory, ingredient and recipe design, sanitation and safety, brewing management and brewing law. Contribute
  • Athletic Brewing Company Scholarship
    The Athletic Brewing Company Scholarship was established in 2021 by Athletic Brewing Co. as a way to help add diversity to the brewing industry. This annual scholarship supports African American students enrolled in the brewing science certificate program, which is housed in St. Vincent’s College at Sacred Heart University. Priority consideration is given to Connecticut residents demonstrating financial need.

Siebel institute of Technology / World Brewing Academy- WBA 

Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF)

  • MILLERCOORS SCHOLARSHIP
    Financial assistance to outstanding students attending one of TMCF’s 47 publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) or a Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs). 12 scholars will be selected to receive a scholarship.

University of California San Diego (UCSD)

University of Northern Colorado 

  • WeldWerks Diversity Scholarship
    A yearly scholarship for current and prospective University of Northern Colorado (UNC) students of color, with an additional preference towards those who have an interest in Brewing Science.

United Negro College Fund (UNCF)

Women of the Vine & Spirits Foundation Scholarships

Women of the Vine & Spirits Foundation, Ltd. (the “Foundation”) provides scholarships and awards for the purpose of helping women advance their careers in the food, wine, spirits, brewing, hospitality, or viticulture industries through education, leadership, and professional development, as well as fostering gender diversity and talent development across the industry at large.
