Nielsen Reports Uptick in On-Premise Visits

July 15, 2020

A bit of optimism may be surfacing as indicated by Nielsen on-premise data which shows that overall visitation remains relatively stable with a slight increase of 38% dining out in the last two weeks. But it is also regional, with New York showing a significant increase, Texas and Florida staying flat and California beginning to decline.

One other good sign is that the data is showing differences by age group with older consumers now beginning to feel comfortable re-entering the channel.

Nielsen said that takeout and delivery remains important, with 65% ordering food and 11% ordering alcohol to-go.
