Jackson and Calagione get Extreme

March 9, 2007

Michael Jackson will return to the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology for his 17th annual visit.

Jackson will visit the Penn Museum on March 9th and 10th. The program will include a Friday evening beer dinner and beer tastings the next day.

The Friday dinner, billed as “Extreme Beer Dinner,” will feature a reception and three course dinner offered in the Museum’s Lower Egyptian gallery. Both days will examine “what makes a beer extreme.” Also attending is Sam Calagione, founder and president of Dogfish Head Brewery.

Calagione recently developed the Dogfish beer Midas Touch Golden Elixir–an alcoholic beverage inspired by Penn Museum’s own archaeochemical research, by Patrick McGovern, on ancient vessels excavated at the famous site of Gordion in Turkey.
