In Episodes 1 and 2 of this series, you learned the essentials of can seaming and why proper seam integrity is so important to the quality of your product, as well as how to evaluate the quality of the seam your canning line is offering. In this session, we’ll bring together everything you’ve learned into practical application as our experts walk through proper seam formation, using our CB50 canning line to demonstrate. As part of this demo, you’ll see:

• How to set up and perform a proper seam
• Running a seam scan to test the seam
• How to perform a changeover operation for different product flavors or can sizes

We’ll also give you a peak into the assembly floor where we manufacture our machines, an overview of our Fill Lab and the filler portion of this machine.

Speaker: Ben Bowman, Kyle Kelleher, Ryan Minerovic, Pneumatic Scale Angelus

Bio: The pride you take in brewing is serious business; selecting the right canning line is among the most critical decisions. With 130 years of experience, and 16,000 canning lines in 132 countries, Pneumatic Scale Angelus is as serious about canning technology as you are about brewing. When it’s time to choose a canning machine worthy of those standards, you can rely on our expertise. With our inline canners, flowmeter technology ensures a perfect fill at speeds to 100 CPM, and our gas flush system keeps oxygen levels under control. Our high-speed seamer design, scaled for single head operation, delivers the only repeatable hermetic double seam in the industry. Our rotary machines use electro-mechanically controlled filling heads that ensure fill level accuracy within +/- 0.5 grams of target volume, and 4 seaming heads with the same industry-leading seal, helping you increase production without drastically increasing footprint. Now those are serious solutions!
