Course work focus on:
Your studies will be science-based, covering Microbiology, Biochemistry, Sensory Analysis, and Hop Research. With this base, you will be exposed to Brewing technology and the Business of brewing, preparing you for different aspects of the brewing world.

Who is this program for?

  • Bachelor of Science Degree – Incoming freshmen, transfer students, and current CWU undergraduates seeking a primary B.S. degree or double-major.
  • Minor in Craft Brewing (Fall 2021) – Incoming freshmen, transfer students, and current CWU undergraduates currently majoring in the Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, etc.) seeking a Minor to supplement their degree.
  • Certificate in Craft Brewing (Fall 2021) – Incoming freshman, transfer students, and current CWU undergraduates seeking to further develop their skills and open opportunities in Craft Brewing (This certificate is currently only for matriculated students).

Our Students

Graduates of the Bachelor of Science Degree, Minor, and Craft Brewing Certificate are diverse and hair from around the world. Graduates work at local/regional breweries in production and head brewer positions as well as in research, marketing, and development positions in the hops and brewing industries.
