The Alfa Laval BREW 80 is a compact plug’n play separation module with a very small footprint, which reduces the amount of floor space needed in breweries. In order to facilitate instal- lation, start-up process and simplify subsequent operation, the BREW 80 unit is delivered as a complete fully equipped separation module ready to install. The BREW 80 separation module is an efficient solution for craft brewers becoming an environmentally friendly way to clarify beer. The design in the Brew 80 separator is based on a top feed inlet with axial hermetic outlet offering low oxygen pick up. The separator has a fixed discharge volume and delivers solids discharge volumes with great accuracy. Solid discharge is triggered by timer or control panel button.
The centrifuge is skid mounted on a mobile base frame on wheels. (72″ L x 61″ H x 39″ W) It includes flow transmitter, valves, gauges and piping for process liquids and service liquids entering and leaving the centrifuge. The electrically operated feed valve opens when the machine goes into production. A manual flow regulating valve is fitted on the feed pipe and a flow transmitter gives a direct flow reading. Sight glasses are fitted on the inlet and outlet. A manual back pressure valve ensures a constant back pressure in the separator outlet. Sample valves are fitted on both the inlet and outlet. Operating water used to control the sludge discharges and flushing, is supplied via a surge tank and pump. The user- friendly control panel and the VFD are mounted in a stainless steel cabinet fitted on the base frame.
The BREW 80 is based on solids ejecting HSS and can be used within the brewing industry for many applications. Designed for use by craft brewers, the BREW 80 separation module is particularly suitable for clarifying:
