These oak foudre tanks were originally used for champange production, then used for sour beer production since 2013. They are in excellent condition and have been used to make some of Cascade Brewing’s finest sour beers including Noyaux, Figaro, Vlad the Impaler, Sang du Chene, Manhattan NW. They will no doubt continue to produce incredible beers in their new home – no microbiological issues or leaks (as of last use). We are making updates to our cellar floor layout and, sadly, no longer have room for these tanks. Please see info below:

-65 HL capacity (approx. 1720 gallons/55 bbls)
-Fitted with manway door, sample port, racking port (with valve, DIN cover, DIN to 2” TC adaptor), and top blow-off port
-Originally used for wine making in Champagne region, 2013 and before
-Used by Cascade Brewing for sour beer (2014-2019)
-Exposed to primarily saccharomyces and lactobacillus with lower counts of pediococcus and brettanomyces
-Kept consistently filled with beer in temperature and humidity controlled environment (60-68F / 70-85%)
-Gassed with sulfur while empty
-Exteriors periodically conditioned with linseed oil, as per manufacturers recommendation, great looking tanks!
