We are selling our 4bbl steam fired system. This system is kind of a legend around Denver and it will probably sell quickly, so reach out soon if you are interested. It started life in Denver at Black Shirt Brewing Company cranking out incredible red ales. It even starred in the documentary Crafting a Nation. When they were ready to grow into a 15 bbl system we picked it up. We have brewed over two and a half years on it, cranking out award winning Belgian style brews. We are now ready to grow into a 15 bbl system that we have on order. We wish we had the space to keep it, but we don’t.
It is tuned and dialed in to crank out batches up to net 4bbls. Smaller batches work great on the system as well. Being all steam fired, it is cheap and efficient to operate while being extremely reliable. Steam was a must for our needs, as we were worried about scorching sugars in several of our 12% + beers. The steam prevents this from happening, allowing us to create high gravity beers without off flavors.
We plan on disassembling the system around the end of February. You are more than welcome to come in and brew a batch of beer on the system with us to get to know it and see it in action before teardown. Great starter system for a new brewery or brewpub. Very sleek design so it doesn’t take up a lot of floor space.
Boil Kettle – hols up to 6 bbl liquid
Mash Tun – has a grain screen bottom for vorlauf and transfer – we have done up to 400 lbs of grain per batch in this mash tun.
Insulated Tank – 6 bbl capacity – we use this tank on double brew days as a hot liquor tank
Cold Liquor Tank – 6 bbl capacity
Heat Exchanger – we can knock out a 4.5 bbl batch in under 15 minutes – works great!
Boiler – 240,000 btu output – more than enough to operate this and another peice of equipment if you wanted.
All Steam Piping and Fittings – We spent money on the steam piping, condensate pump, floats, etc to completely overhaul and update the system when we installed it two and a half years ago.
system is being sold without tri clamps and manual valves.
