Long-time brewer Jay Misson dies

The craft brewing industry lost Jay Misson, Director of Brewing Operations of Triumph Brewing Company. He also served as the President of the NY/NJ MBAA chapter.

Jay’s roots go back to homebrewing in high school during the late 70’s, and first took a job as a brewer at Vernon Valley Brewing in 1987, a pioneering brewery in northern New Jersey. He then moved on to Bauhaus Castel in Germany and then back to the states with Mountain Valley Brewing. Jay worked at Gordon-Biersch Brewing on the West coast, training brewers before returning to New Jersey to brew for Triumph.

Jay died unexpectedly in his sleep at home on Monday.
