Boulevard Breaks Ground on $20 Million Expansion

News »  General Newsposted Mar 25th 12:00:00AM by Pat Hagerman

Boulevard Brewing announced this week that they will break ground for a new $20 million expansion.

The three-story, 70,000 square foot facility will be connected via an elevated walkway to the company’s original brewhouse, and will house a new 150 bbl. brewery, packaging equipment, administrative offices and hospitality rooms.

“This year we expect to sell over 100,000 bbls,” said John McDonald, Boulevard founder and president. Since our current capacity is about 110,000 bbls, the new brewhouse is going to come online soon.” When completed in the summer of 2006, the expansion will increase the company’s capacity to 600,000bbls per year, ultimately adding more than 100 new jobs. The company said it expects to continue to grow at 15%-20% a year, and to do so by concentrating its efforts in its existing central Midwest markets.
