Brewer Governor

Beverage Industry News» Specialty Industry Newsposted Jan 13th, 2011 12:06:46AM by pbrewadmin

Historic moment as one of our own becomes Governor of Colorado!

Last night, the Wynkoop Brewery delivered Rail Yard Ale by their horse-drawn wagon to the Governor’s inauguration bash. Along with an especially important cargo: Governor John Hickenlooper.

Hickenlooper, of course the well-known founder of the Wynkoop Brewery was picked up a few blocks away from the Fillmore auditorium, site of the inaugural barbecue dinner.

Governor Hick rode shotgun.

In the back of the wagon was the beer and head brewer Andy Brown along with Marty Jones Lee Driscoll of the Wynkoop Brewery.

With a state trooper escort they rolled west down famed Colfax Ave by the Ogden Theater, site of the inauguration concert, and then down past the Fillmore to the Denver Turnverein next door, where the Governor held a quick VIP meet & greet before the dinner.

“May our house always be too small to hold all our friends.”
Congratulations Mayor Hikenlooper from a Colorado-born brewer to you!

    Prost!
