Brewers Association will produce consumer beer and food pairing in Washington DC

The Brewers Association is producing a new consumer event called SAVOUR that will pair craft beer with gourmet food in a upscale setting.

The event will take place over three sessions on May 16th & 17th, 2008 at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium on Constitution Ave. The event is timed to coincide with American Craft Beer Week.

Forty-eight breweries from across the country will be able to showcase their beer to hundreds of attendees as they a variety of cuisine. SAVOR will celebrate the connection between finely crafted American beer and gourmet foods.

BA members only are eligible to participate in this BA sponsored event. The BA will randomly select five breweries from eight regions of the country, plus eight supporting brewery sponsors, to participate. Breweries committed to participating in the event need to enter their name into the SAVOR lottery which closes this Friday, November 30th. All breweries will be notified by December 10th whether or not they were selected to participate.

A unique facet to this event is that each brewery booth must be manned at all times by a knowledgeable brewery owner, brewer, or employee. This gives participating breweries a chance to speak to the public and media face to face about your beer.

Any BA member brewery interested in participating can visit beertown.org/savor

    Hi Everyone,

The lottery drawing for brewery participation at the Brewers Association’s May 2008 event, SAVOR: an American Craft Beer & Food Experience, is done! All breweries that entered the lottery should have received an email yesterday informing them of their participation status. Breweries that signed up for the lottery were entered into the drawing – 40 breweries from 8 regions were randomly selected for participation. Additionally, eight spots were reserved for Brewery Supporters (sponsors), for a total of 48 breweries participating at the event.

Below is a list of participating breweries. Thanks to all who expressed interest in the event which takes place May 16 & 17 in Washington DC. For additional information regarding brewery participation go to http://www.beertown.org/savor/
