The Brewers Association has announced the total number of operating breweries at year end 2012 was 2,336, an increase of 387 over the 2011 count of 1,949.
The total number of breweries-in-planning is 1,254.
Breaking the down the categories, 24 breweries are part of the A-B and MillerCoors complex, 109 are regional breweries, 1,084 microbreweries and 1,119 brewpubs.
Final numbers will be presented at the Craft Brewers Conference in Washington, DC on March 27, 2013.
