News Craft Brew Alliance Reports First Qtr. Results

Craft Brew Alliance reported a first quarter 5% drop in deletions, which along with a recent $4.7 million cost to settle a lawsuit over alleged “false and deceptive advertising,” resulted in a net income loss of $7.3 million.

The Kona brand, driven by a $4.6 million national marketing campaign was up 10% in the first quarter, but shipments of other core brands were down, including a 7% decline for Widmer Brothers and 20% drop in Redhook sales.
