News Boston Beer Alt Beverages Drive Impressive Growth

The Boston Beer Company reported second quarter 2019 net revenue of $318.4 million, an increase of $45.3 million or 16.6%, from the same period last year.  This increase was driven by impressive sales growth over the period. Shipments increased 17% in the second quarter and have increased 23% for year-to-date through July 3rd.

On July 3, 2019, the Company completed its merger with the Dogfish Head Brewery. The company plans to consolidate Dogfish Head results into the Company’s financial results beginning on July 3, 2019.

All of the growth has been from Boston’s alternative non-beer products such as hard tea and hard seltzer. The Sam Adams brands were down 13.3% in dollar sales in Nielsen scan data reports.
