News Ball Announces New Can Production Plant

Ball Corp. announced that they are purchasing a 1.1 million square foot building in Pittston, Pennsylvania that will help to stem the concern over a shortage of cans in the beverage industry.

The new plant is in addition to a new canning facility currently under construction that Ball hopes to have open by early next year.

The company anticipates a 4% growth in demand for its aluminum cans this year due to a combination of factors, including a rising consumer interest in canned wine, the booming seltzer segment and a switch to cans from kegs in the brewing industry due to the pandemic.
