New Belgium Brewing Co. is going big with its new canning line that will offer 16-ounce tall boys and a new beer currently in the development phase.
The brewery is in the process of installing a new canning line that will have the ability to fill 12-ounce and 16-ounce cans. The former canning line could only fill 12-ounce cans.
To start, New Belgium will offer Fat Tire and its Ranger IPA in 16-ounce cans. There also is a new, yet-to-be-named beer that will be released in the larger cans, Simpson said. Brewers are still developing the recipe for the new beer, but Simpson said it will complement the tall-boy package well.
The 16-ounce cans will sell in four packs and will be a “retro, cool” package.
