Hair of the Dog Brewery, known for its big, strong beers and barrel-aging process in the early days of the craft beer movement will close its doors.
In a video released on Hair of the Dog’s Facebook group page, well-known owner Alan Sprints said he is retiring and closing both the brewery and the tasting room.
Sprints opened Hair of the Dog Brewery in Portland in 1993 and gained a global reputation for his bold and robust beers. In the video Sprints says he still has a few more beers to release and inventory to sell and will keep the tasting room until early summer.
