Seattle brewer to build new 60,000 bbl brewery

Elysian Brewing Co. in Seattle, WA, has announced a substantial expansion to a 35,000 sq ft space in South Seattle.

The 15-year-old company which has three Seattle brewery/restaurants will be expanding to a 60,000 barrel capacity plant that should be fully operational by late summer 2011.

The brewery has taken home the Large Brewpub of the Year award at the Great American Beer Festival in 1999, 2003 and 2004.

Specialty beer production will continue at the Capitol Hill brewery, which produced approximately 5,000 barrels in 2010, as well as at the Elysian Fields and Tangletown breweries.
