Chris Jackson, founder and president of Seismic Brewing Company in Santa Rosa, CA has announced that he and his wife Ariel will purchase Golden State Cider of Healdsburg. The cidery was founded 10 years ago and uses locally grown apples for its production.
Jackson, also a proprietor of Jackson Family Wines and son of well-known wine industry pioneer Jess Jackson, started Seismic Brewing in 2015 as an extension of his life in the wine industry. The purchase of State Cider will give Jackson and another rung in the alcohol beverage industry at a time when ciders continue to grow market share across the country.
The brewery and the cidery will fall under a new company, Sonoma Craft, according to an article in the North Bay Business News.
