New Sam Adams Brewery Still Moving Forward

Boston Beer will be holding an informal public informational session next week to discuss the proposed Sam Adams brewery in Westfield, Massachusetts, located about 80 miles west of Boston.

Brewery officials said the brewery would be housed in a 200,000-square-foot facility in the Campanelli Business Park and would open in the first half of 2008, creating 50 to 75 full-time jobs.

Rather than a formal presentation with a question-and-answer period, Boston Beer officials will interact directly with residents while stationed at different booths.
“It will be set up more like a trade show where we’ll have people in one area to talk about this project, another to talk about the brewing process and another to answer questions about the (tax increment financing agreement ),” Ms. Sullivan said.

Under the proposed 20-year proposed, Boston Beer stands to save approximately $1 million in taxes while the town would receive $2.75 million to $3 million in building and real estate property tax revenues.
