In what promises to be just another in a growing trend, the brewing group Mahou San Miguel of Spain has purchased a 30-percent stake in Grand Rapids-based Founders Brewing Co.
Founders said the partnership would help the brewery tap the growing international market for craft beer, as well as allow Mahou to become directly involved in the U.S. craft beer market.
Using catch phrases to appease their core consumer base such as “they shares our family values and…commitment” and, “we are in it for the long haul,” one must wonder how long craft beer will maintain its authenticity.
Next year looks like it will be red hot with more deals.
