In the world of craft beer, we are blessed with “choice” and “variety.” Thousands of breweries in the U.S. delivering tens of thousands of different beers for consumers to enjoy. But in the big picture, the beer industry still remains highly consolidated, with 59% of the worlds beer being brewed by just six companies.
The leader of course is ABInBev with 25.7% of the market followed by Heineken at about half of that or 12.2%. Next up is Carlsberg at 6.1% and China Resources Snow Breweries at 5.9%. Taking up the rear is Molson Coors at 4.6% and Tsingtao at 4.4%.
