News OSHA Speaks – Are You Listening?

With success comes visibility. The craft brewing industry, which to some extent flew under the radar of many regulatory agencies, has become a big blip on the radar screen.

The Occupational Health and Safety Association (OSHA) is an agency of the United States Department of Labor. Established in 1970, OSHA’s mission is to “assure safe and healthy working conditions for working men and women by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education and assistance.” Note the word “enforcing.” The agency posted on their web site today a heads-up of sorts by noting that OSHA has “been citing employers left and right for these common violations.”

They go on to list what those common violations are. Here is OSHA’s Top Six violations in the craft brewing industry.
