News Greene King to Close Historic 200 Year Old Westgate Brewery and Move to New Modern Facility

Greene King will be moving out of its historic Westgate Brewery in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk to a new site in the same town. The British brewer has brewed beers such as Old Speckled Hen and Abbot Ale at the Westgate Brewery for over 200 years.

The company has decided to build a new brewery nearby. They will continue to make beer at the Westgate brewery until the new brewing facility is co0mpleted sometime in 2025.

There is no word what the company will do with the historic Westgate brewery when brewing ceases there.
