The 36th annual Great American Beer Festival competition handed out a total of 293 medals to breweries small and large from across the U.S. The GABF is the largest commercial beer competition in the world.
The awards ceremony, held at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver awarded gold, silver and bronze medals in 98 beer categories covering 161 different beer styles.
Winners were chosen out of 7,923 competition entries from 2,217 breweries in 50 states and Wash. D.C. This was a 15 percent increase over 2016 in entries and a 24 percent increase in breweries.
