The famed Toronado tap house in San Diego, known for its dedication to serving high quality and unique craft beers, is for sale according to a social media post and a company email newsletter.
Mirrored after the original Toronada in San Francisco and in business in San Diego for 12 years, the tap house has often been credited for being a driving force in the late-blooming, but burgeoning San Diego craft beer scene.
In a email newsletter, the company said “Sheesh… This has proven to be a hard email to begin. So many things to say, and all of those things will be said in time, but for now I’ll just tell you all that we’ve decided to put the bar up for sale.” It was not clear if the iconic establishment would stay open until a buyer was found, but it seemed to indicate that the doors would be closing soon.
