As expected, on-premise alcohol sales are far ahead of 2020 due to the shut down one year ago. On-premise velocity is +120% higher than the same time last year for the one-week period ending May 29, according to the on-premise consulting firm CGA.
But more surprising is that the market is growing considerably versus 2019, up +29%. That is the biggest growth versus two years prior than CGA has ever seen.
According to the report, 98% of states have bars open indoors (either completely, or with capacity measures in place) and 100% of states have restaurants open indoors to some capacity.
