News On Premise Optimism: No Signs of Cannibalism in Take-Out & Delivery as Restaurants Roars Back to Life

Take out and delivery of meals and drinks during the pandemic became a well-developed habit for many consumers. Some in the industry worried that consumers might become so comfortable with eating take-out at home that it would cannibalize on-site business. That doesn’t seem to be the case according to data from CGA, the on-premise measurement, research and insight company.

“There is real optimism for the fortunes of on-premise venues in the US as restrictions ease, visitation levels continue to rise and takeout/delivery is complimenting consumer intent to visit,” according to the report. “The industry will be hoping that the foundations are being laid for the “Roaring Twenties” to re-emerge a century after prohibition was the catalyst for a wild decade in the US.”
