News On-Premise Business Takes a Slight Dip in October

Nielsen CGA, which measure the on-premise retail channel, released data for the one-week period ending October 17th showing that dollar sales were down 7% for the week. The five states where data is collected include California, Texas, Illinois, New York and Florida. Only New York showed an increase with a 3% growth in dollar sales versus the previous week.

Measuring the week ending October 17th of this year versus the same week one year ago in 2019 shows an interesting snapshot of the on-premise business in the middle of the pandemic compared to “normal times” one year ago. On average, the on-premise business is down 20.8% across the five states.
