St. Louis A-B distributor acquires wine and spirits house.
Lohr Distributing Co., the Anheuser-Busch Distributor in the city of St. Louis, has purchased nearby distributor Gateway Wine & Spirits.
The move unusual in that the A-B wholesaler located in A-B ground zero St. Louis is expanding into a brand portfolio that will include wines and spirits.
Lohr has been making a recent effort to add more craft beers to its lineup, last week completing a deal to be the Missouri distributor for Six Row Brewing Co. The A-B wholesaler also has picked up Southern Tier Brewing Co. out of New York and Kansas’ Tallgrass Brewing Co.
A statement from the company noted that Lohr’s “daily corporate mission of selling and servicing Anheuser-Busch products remains Priority No. 1.”
