News A First Step – House Passes Virus Relief Bill

As more and more states began shutting down restaurants, bars and brewery tap rooms, the federal government took the first step in passing legislation to provide economic relief.

A multibillion-dollar House coronavirus package that was hung up earlier in the day in negotiations is now close to finalization, with hope that it will be passed today and move on to the Senate. The Senate has cancelled its recess and is expected to hear the bill later this week.

The bill would provide an immediate infusion of at least $750 billion to respond to the crisis, including more money for hospitals, expanded unemployment insurance and more funds for small business.
